Each swab contains an iodine solution, which is ideal to be applied to cuts & infected areas. Its anticeptic properties prevent irritation whilst also killing & protecting against bacterial/fungal infections
 
Snapping the swab (where the red line is located), releases the solution into one of the cotton ends for ease of appplication.
